WPL 2024: Second edition of T20 cricket league starts February 23, final on March 17 – full schedule, teams, format
The second edition of the Women’s Premier League will take place from February 23 to March 17. The women’s T20 cricket tournament will take place in Bengaluru and Delhi, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Tuesday.
The defending champions Mumbai Indians will face last year’s finalists Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru to begin the WPL 2024 season.
Like previous year, five teams will compete in the WPL 2024. The Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz will compete alongside the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
All matches until March 4 will be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The tournament’s remaining matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
There will be a total of 22 matches, including the elimination and final. The team at the top of the points table advances directly to the final. The opponents will be determined via an eliminator match between the second and third-placed clubs in the table.
There are no double-headers, and only one WPL match is planned every day until the league stage concludes. All matches will begin at 7:30 PM IST.
